Itinerary

Machu Picchu full day – A journey to the lost city of the Incas

Cusco – The Journey Begins: Our experience begins with an early departure from Cusco. We will travel toward the Sacred Valley and continue to the train station according to the selected train schedule.
As we leave the city behind, the landscape gradually changes from urban streets to green valleys, mountains, and traditional Andean communities.
Train Journey – Through the Sacred Valley: We will board the train toward Aguas Calientes, the town located at the foot of Machu Picchu.
The journey follows the Vilcanota River through a spectacular landscape surrounded by mountains. As the train progresses, the scenery gradually changes, revealing increasingly lush vegetation and dramatic mountain slopes.
This scenic journey offers a different perspective of the Andes and prepares us for the main highlight of the day.
Aguas Calientes – Gateway to Machu Picchu: Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will meet our guide and prepare for the final part of our journey to the archaeological sanctuary.
We will take the designated bus service up the winding mountain road toward Machu Picchu, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding cloud forest along the way.
Machu Picchu – The Inca Citadel: We will finally arrive at the entrance to Machu Picchu, where our guided exploration begins.
Surrounded by dramatic mountains and tropical vegetation, the citadel reveals an extraordinary combination of stone architecture and natural landscape.
During the guided tour, we will explore the principal areas included in our visiting circuit and learn about the history, architecture, religious significance, and organization of this remarkable Inca settlement.
Our guide will explain how the Incas adapted the citadel to the mountain, creating terraces, ceremonial spaces, temples, and residential areas while maintaining a strong connection with the surrounding landscape.
We will also have time to appreciate the views, take photographs, and experience the atmosphere of this unique archaeological sanctuary.
Return to Aguas Calientes: After completing our visit to Machu Picchu, we will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes.
Depending on the train schedule, we will have some free time in the town to enjoy a meal, explore the local streets, or simply relax before our return journey.
Return to Cusco: We will board our return train toward the selected station.
Upon arrival, our transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco, where we will conclude our full-day Machu Picchu experience.
