Some of Peru’s greatest mysteries cannot be fully appreciated from the ground. Deep in the coastal desert, enormous figures have been drawn across the landscape for centuries, creating one of the most fascinating archaeological mysteries in South America.
From Lima, this journey takes us south through the dramatic landscapes of Peru’s Pacific coast until we reach the region of Nazca. From above, the famous geoglyphs reveal their extraordinary scale and shapes, transforming the desert into a giant canvas created by an ancient civilization.

Nazca Lines – Mysteries drawn across the desert
- Lima – The Journey Begins: Our experience begins in Lima with an early departure toward the southern coast of Peru. The route takes us through a constantly changing landscape, from the urban environment of Lima to the extensive coastal desert.
- As we travel south, our guide will introduce us to the history of the Nazca civilization and explain the archaeological importance of the mysterious geoglyphs that have made this region famous around the world.
- The Pan-American Highway – Through the Peruvian Desert: The journey continues along the Pan-American Highway, following the Pacific coast through one of the most distinctive landscapes of Peru.
- The desert stretches between the ocean and the Andes, creating an impressive contrast of sand, mountains and open spaces. Along the way, we can appreciate how ancient cultures developed sophisticated societies in one of the driest environments on Earth.
- Nazca – The Land of the Ancient Geoglyphs: Upon reaching Nazca, we prepare for the highlight of the experience: seeing the famous Nazca Lines from the air.
- Before the flight, the necessary procedures and preparations will take place at the local aerodrome. The flight itself provides a unique perspective that cannot be experienced from the ground.
- Nazca Lines – A Journey Above an Ancient Mystery: Once airborne, the immense desert landscape opens beneath us, revealing some of the most famous geoglyphs attributed to the Nazca culture.
- From the aircraft, passengers can observe large figures and geometric designs traced across the desert floor. Among the best-known representations are the Hummingbird, Monkey, Condor, Spider and other figures whose exact meanings continue to be studied and debated.
- The aerial perspective makes it possible to appreciate the enormous scale and precision of these designs, while the surrounding desert emphasizes just how extraordinary their creation must have been.
- Throughout the flight, the crew will indicate the different figures so passengers can observe and photograph them from the aircraft.
- Nazca – Time to Explore and Relax: After the flight, we have time to rest and, depending on the day's program and available schedule, enjoy a meal or explore the surrounding area before beginning our return journey.
- This moment also provides an opportunity to reflect on the experience and the many questions that still surround the purpose and creation of the Nazca Lines.
- Return to Lima: After completing the experience in Nazca, we begin our journey back to Lima following the same coastal route.
- As the desert landscapes gradually give way to the outskirts of the capital, we conclude a day dedicated to one of Peru's most fascinating archaeological mysteries.
